INDEPENDENCE AND MEXICAN FOOD
September 16 is a day of great importance for Mexicans, as we remember the anniversary of September 16, 1810 when a civil war began that lasted 11 years, from 1810 to 1821 and that confronted the insurgents who sought to free themselves from Spanish control, against the royalists who defended the loyalty of the crown.
But here we are to talk about food, the Traditional Cuisine of Mexico was inscribed by UNESCO in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. On this date the traditional dishes are the center of the party along with the cry of independence.
It is celebrated with family and friends, some of the most typical dishes that are prepared are: Pozole, Garnachas, Tostadas, Pambazos, Chiles en nogada. Likewise, the Historic Center of Mexico City is usually attended to witness the cry of independence and fireworks offered by the President of Mexico.
